Fruits of Character
It is very important that we exhibit the type of character that God has outlined in His word.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
– Galatians 5:22-23
The fruits of the spirit should manifest in us in our daily Christian walk. If we are not exhibiting these characteristics, we are without a doubt walking in the flesh.
Now the practices of the sinful nature are clearly evident: they are sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality (total irresponsibility, lack of self-control), idolatry, sorcery, hostility, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions [that promote heresies], envy, drunkenness, riotous behavior, and other things like these. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
– Galatians 5:19-21
Whether or not we realize it, nothing good ever comes from walking in the flesh. From experience, there is always a very poor outcome; usually shame, guilt, embarrassment, or just utter and complete misery.
We have often heard the saying that no-one can serve two masters. It is not possible to walk in the spirit, and in the flesh at the same simultaneously.
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
– Galatians 5 :16-17
Each Moment, take a note of how you are about to react in a particular situation.
Are you about to gratify the fresh, or will you continue to Walk in the Spirit.
